What is spillin' ?

Spillin' of the Green is a mobile St. Patrick's day party held every year in Pocahontas, IA.  The first 'organized' event was in 1991, but it started with an impromptu trip from Pocahontas to Pat's Rainbow Tap in Gilmore City in 1990 to try some of Pat's free Mulligan Stew, and personally dyed green beer (which was closer to black depending on how many dops of food coloring Pat put in).  After returning to Bob's Bar in Poky too late for the lunch we promised Betty we would be home for, the festivities continued and included depth charges, irish depth charges, Big Al chewing up a glass, sister Jill pulling off his ear, plenty more green beer, and some irish singing and dancing.  Little did we know what that little road trip would lead to.  2015 will mark the 25th year of Spillin', and will be held on the weekend of March 27th-28th.  We hope to see you all there!
